E Mail Mailing List

The worst thing that can happen when a company performs an email marketing campaign is that a high percentage of the emails are never opened. If it bounces, is reported as abusive or ends up in spam, this is also a bad outcome. Then, of course, the last thing you want is for someone to immediately unsubscribe themselves.

So let's say you have a great company, a great product or service and have done the research necessary to find your target market. Now you think you are all ready to perform a mass mailing, internet style. You are hoping that by visiting your website, those who got your email will avail themselves of your product or service.

How are you really going to make sure this happens? You cannot simply open your email program, type in a list of names, write a few lines in the text area and push send. You might ask, ‘well, why not, after all, I am sending my information to a targeted audience'?' First of all, typing in those names can be quite a chore, and you can make mistakes. Rather, you should make use of a software program that will import your contacts. Being able to sort your contacts according to unique specifications is optimal. Once you really get going, you will want the ability to manage multiple contact lists that are dependent on feedback you have received from your marketing campaign.

Once your mailing list is in order, you may think you are ready to begin. Not yet, because most email programs send out multiple emails in such a way that the recipient is immediately aware that they have received a mass mailing. Therefore, your email may very well end up going straight into the trash. Using software that is white listed with the major ISPs will stop this from happening. There are a host of regulations, authentication requirements and permission-based policies that have to be 'passed' in order for your mass emails to be received. This is not an area to ignore!

Let's say that you can successfully send your mass mailing, how will you be sure it gets read? It is critical that your content look professional! In order for everyone who opens your email to read it easily you should use a WYSIWIG HTML editor. It might even be a good idea to use a template that has been professionally designed as the basis for your correspondence. You will also want to be able to upload your own designs or modify one of these templates.

A good marketing tool involves allowing the email recipient to opt-in for promotions. You will also want them to be able to choose exactly what information they receive from you in the future.

You have gotten your message across - now what? How do you make use of the information that can be garnered from how your recipients respond? You may think, okay, they came to my website and they bought or they did not. Even soft and hard bounces of the original email tell you something, as do links clicked. Your future campaigns rely on it.

Never send bulk emails through your office computer and always use white-listed, hosted email marketing software. Choose software that works for you to dramatically increase your success rate. I've researched over fifty companies and recommend just one. You can find it at MaxiMails.
