Buying Mailing Lists
One of the worst things that can happen when a company has done an email marketing campaign is that the emails they send are never even opened. If it bounces, is reported as abusive or ends up in spam, this is also a bad outcome. Finally, all your hard work ends up unrewarded when the recipient simply goes to your website but immediately unsubscribes.
Now let's say you have found your target audience for your great product or service. You may think this is all you need to perform a successful mass mailing marketing campaign. You have high expectations that you will send out a bunch of emails, they will get opened and everyone will go to your website.
This may be a good plan, but is it complete? In fact, to get the result you desire, you cannot simply open up your email program, type in a bunch of names and write a little jingle. Despite having done research and having found a target audience, this just does not work. For one thing, you can make mistakes entering any of the data. Importing your contact list via reliable software is a good first step. It is optimal to use software for this that can sort and categorize your contact list(s). Once you really get going, you will want the ability to manage multiple contact lists that are dependent on feedback you have received from your marketing campaign.
You may now think you have all you need. There is, however, more to be done because most email programs cannot hide the fact that an email has been generated by a mass mailing program. Therefore, your email may very well end up going straight into the trash. The solution is to use browser based, bulk email marketing software that is white listed with the major ISPs. There are innumerable permission-based policies, authentication requirements, and other regulations that need to be adhered to in order for your message to be received. This is not an area to ignore!
Now, how about the message itself? It must not look like some home-baked message. To make sure all your recipients are able to read your mail, use a WYSIWIG HTML editor when you compose it. It might even be a good idea to use a template that has been professionally designed as the basis for your correspondence. You will want to have the ability to easily modify the template.
A good marketing tool involves allowing the email recipient to opt-in for promotions. Your recipients should also be able to choose exactly what information you do and do not send them in the future.
Your recipients have seen your message and visited your website. Those who have visited your website have made some selections, and you need to take advantage of this information. Whether or not someone bought your product or service is just the tip of the iceberg. Even soft and hard bounces of the original email tell you something, as do links clicked. Your marketing software must make the most out of this for you to launch successful future campaigns.
Never send bulk emails through your office computer and always use white-listed, hosted email marketing software. Choose software that works for you to dramatically increase your success rate. I've researched over fifty companies and recommend just one. You can find it at MaxiMails.
